Liberia Natural Produce Inc. (LPNI) is now a certified producer of Organic Crude Palm Oil
In September 2025, we officially received our EU organic certificate from Control Union, recognising our commitment to the highest international standards in organic agriculture. This certification is a testament to our dedication to producing sustainable, high-quality palm oil while protecting Liberia’s invaluable environment.
Our Organic Production Commitment
LPNI manages over 3,500 hectares of palm oil estate, operating a mill commissioned in Q4 2024 with an annual production capacity of 8,000 MT.
Our commitment goes beyond capacity:
- 100% Organic Agriculture: We have abandoned chemical use, relying instead on biological processes and biodiversity that are tailored to local conditions. Our approach blends science, creativity, and tradition to ensure positive impact.
- International Standards: We adhere strictly to international standards formed in response to environmental and social concerns. Our goal is full certification across multiple major criteria, including EOS (EU) and NOP (US).
- Growth and Future: Our roadmap includes achieving RSPO certification and installing a unit for organic crude palm kernel oil production.
We are not just producing palm oil; we are building a model for sustainable and ethical resource management in Liberia.
Sustainable Palm Oil: Protecting Liberia's Natural Treasure
Liberia is one of West Africa’s most heavily forested nations, home to an incredible diversity of life. LPNI recognises the vital need to protect this environment. Our palm oil production is intrinsically linked to our mission of sustainability, ensuring that the economic benefits of the crop do not come at the expense of nature.
Our Environmental Stewardship
- Protecting HCV Sites: We proactively identify and safeguard High Conservation Value (HCV) designated sites across our concession. We are dedicated to defending these critical environmental and social values.
- Comprehensive Conservation: We have adopted a robust land-use planning approach incorporating both HCV and HCS (High Carbon Stock) assessments, which guided the reduction of our planting size to 4,000 hectares to protect forested areas.
- Eco-Guard Program: We are building a dedicated Eco-guard program to actively protect the forests and HCV regions, working in tandem with a community awareness program.
By adhering to strict organic and sustainable practices, LPNI ensures that palm oil continues to play a positive role in both food security and economic development while preserving the environment for future generations.
